About the Chapter

PCI of Illinois & Wisconsin is the regional chapter of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, representing 14 PCI-certified precast producer companies and 57 associate member companies across both states.

Our mission

To increase the use of precast/prestressed concrete products in commercial and transportation construction by informing, educating, and promoting PCI's body of knowledge.

Our goals

Goal 01
Increase awareness to the target audience by implementing promotional and education campaigns and outreach initiatives.
Goal 02
Gain buy-in and commitment of PCI IW members by proving the value of the association through united participation and proactive involvement.

Our vision

PCI IW envisions a future where precast/prestressed concrete products are the preferred choice for commercial and transportation construction, delivering durable, versatile, and sustainable infrastructure solutions for a better tomorrow.

What the chapter does

The chapter runs three things. It delivers accredited continuing education to the region's design community at no charge, through lunch and learns, plant tours, seminars, and webinars. It maintains the public directories of certified producers and associate member suppliers for this region. And it convenes the industry through the year, from plant tours to the annual membership meeting, so the companies that design, produce, and supply precast in Illinois and Wisconsin stay in contact with each other.

Where we work

Under our chapter affiliation agreement with PCI, the chapter's region is Illinois and Wisconsin. That covers Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Rockford, Peoria, Springfield, Green Bay, and the communities between them.

The chapter also serves the precast market beyond that line. Northwest Indiana, including Gary, Hammond, and the Calumet corridor, sits inside the Chicago market our producers work in daily. So does the St. Louis area, on both the Missouri and the Illinois side, where Metro East projects draw on chapter producers. Design teams and contractors working in either area can use this site's producer directory, request accredited education, and attend chapter events on the same terms as anyone in Illinois or Wisconsin.

Our relationship to national PCI

The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute maintains the industry's technical library, certification programs, and design standards. As the regional chapter, we are your local path to that material and to the certified producers who build with it. PCI also maintains a directory of the other regional chapters for work outside our area.

Our members

The chapter is its members: PCI-certified producers and the associate companies that supply and support them. Both directories are public. Find a producer or browse the associate member directory.

Who we serve

Architects and designers working out whether precast fits a facade. Structural engineers sizing members and connections. DOT and transportation engineers specifying bridge products against IDOT and WisDOT standards. Contractors planning erection sequence and schedule. And the supplier companies that keep the region's plants running, who join as associate members.

Beyond the plant

Member companies put time and money into the places they operate, from trades education programs that some of them founded outright to scholarships, health causes, and local organizations. We collect that work on the community page, and any member can add theirs.

Board & governance

The chapter is governed by a member-elected board serving the producer and associate members of Illinois and Wisconsin: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Associate Director, and Regional Director.

About the chapter

Is PCI of Illinois & Wisconsin the same as PCI?

No. The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute is the national body, and it maintains the certification programs, design standards, and technical library. PCI of Illinois & Wisconsin is the regional chapter for Illinois and Wisconsin. The chapter runs local education, events, and the regional producer directory, and it points members to national PCI for standards and certification.

Who does the chapter serve?

Two groups. Member companies, meaning 14 PCI-certified producers and 57 associate member suppliers and service firms. And the regional design and construction community, meaning the architects, engineers, contractors, and DOT staff who specify and build with precast. Education and the producer directory are free to that second group with no membership required.

Does the chapter cover Northwest Indiana and St. Louis?

Yes. Our PCI region under the chapter affiliation agreement is Illinois and Wisconsin, and we also serve the precast market in Northwest Indiana and the St. Louis area. Producers listed in our directory work across all of it. Designers and contractors in Gary, Hammond, the Calumet corridor, and the Metro East can use the producer directory, request accredited education, and attend chapter events on the same terms as anyone in Illinois or Wisconsin.

Where is the chapter based?

The chapter office is at 21200 S La Grange Rd STE #173, Frankfort, IL 60423. Reach the chapter at 312-505-1858 or info@pci-iw.org. Events and plant tours run throughout Illinois and Wisconsin rather than from a single location.

Does the chapter recommend one producer over another?

No. The chapter does not broker work, take referral fees, or rank its members. The producer directory lists certifications, products, and plant locations so you can judge fit for your project, and every listed producer meets the same PCI certification requirement.

How is the chapter governed?

By a board elected from the producer and associate membership, made up of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Associate Director, and Regional Director. The Associate Director seat means associate members have direct representation in how the chapter sets its programs.
