Questions about our courses
Are these courses free?
Yes. Chapter education is free to attend, including lunch and learns delivered at your office, plant tours, and seminars. There is no charge to your firm and no membership requirement for the design community to attend.
Do these count as continuing education credit?
Yes. We are an approved continuing education provider, and our courses carry learning units that count toward license renewal for architects and professional development hours for engineers. We issue certificates after each session for your records.
How many people do I need for a lunch and learn?
There is no minimum we enforce. Most sessions run with somewhere between eight and forty people. If your office is small, we can combine firms or deliver the session online.
How far in advance should I schedule?
Three to four weeks is comfortable. Presenters travel from member producers across Illinois and Wisconsin, and we deliver in Northwest Indiana and the St. Louis area as well, so more notice gives us more choice of speaker and topic. Send the request and we will come back with dates.
Can you deliver a course online?
Yes. Every program can run as a webinar for firms with multiple offices or remote staff. In-person sessions include samples, which is worth the room when the topic is finish and texture.
Can we tour a precast plant?
Yes, and it is the single best hour a design team can spend on precast. Plant tours at member producers show casting beds, finishes, and handling at full scale. Tours count for credit the same as a classroom session.
